PROFESSOR
OF MATHEMATICS
Applications are invited for this
post in the School of Mathematical Sciences. The School
encompasses the disciplines of Mathematics, Applied
Mathematics and Statistics and boasts an excellent record
in research and teaching and learning. The School
attracts outstanding undergraduate students to its
degrees in Mathematical Sciences, and Financial
Mathematics and Actuarial Science, as well as
contributing to joint honours degrees with the Department
of Physics and providing Mathematical Studies within the
universitys Bachelor of Arts degree. There is an
active post-graduate research programme and the School
offers a number of taught postgraduate programmes.
The successful candidate will be
expected to play a leadership role in the continued
development of research activities of the School and
discipline of mathematics, to grow post-graduate numbers
and external research funding, and to develop
postgraduate taught programmes. In addition s/he
will be expected to lead the development of the
discipline at UCC, nationally and internationally, and to
contribute to teaching and examining.
Salary scale (new entrants):
113,604 145,953 per annum
